Aetna ABA therapy in New Jersey, verified before you start.

Centered Solutions is in network with Aetna. If your family has Aetna coverage, we verify your eligibility and tell you what we know about your plan before anything begins. If something is still unclear, we say so. We also walk you through authorization, so you are not left to sort out ABA benefits on your own.

What Aetna usually asks for.

Requirements vary by plan. This is what usually comes up, not a guarantee of what yours will need.

  • A diagnosis from a qualified evaluator

In most cases Aetna requires a documented ASD diagnosis before authorizing ABA. Typically that comes from a developmental pediatrician, child psychologist, child psychiatrist, or pediatric neurologist.

  • A prescription or referral

Some Aetna plans ask for a physician referral for ABA services before an assessment can be authorized.

  • An assessment and treatment plan

Your BCBA completes the assessment and submits the treatment plan with recommended goals and hours for review.

  • Periodic reauthorization

Aetna authorizes care for a set period, then reviews progress before continuing. We handle those submissions.

How authorization works with Aetna.

The steps are the same as with our other in-network carriers.

  1. Verify eligibility and cost sharing
  2. Request assessment authorization
  3. Complete the assessment and submit treatment plan
  4. Receive treatment authorization
  5. Staff the case and begin care

Most families are authorized and matched within a couple of weeks.

When you work with us, you are never on your own with any of this. Centered Solutions takes the lead on managing the insurance process for our clients: benefit verification, authorizations, claims, and appeals. We guide you through each step and you are involved when your input is needed, but the paperwork and the phone calls are on us.

Aetna plans and Aetna Better Health are different.

We are in network with Aetna commercial plans. Aetna Better Health is a Medicaid managed care plan under NJ FamilyCare, and we are not in network with Medicaid or NJ FamilyCare plans. If your card says Aetna Better Health, reach out anyway. We will tell you honestly what is possible and what is not. Private pay is available for families without in-network coverage.

Other carriers we're in network with.

Aetna is one of three carriers we work with in network.
