In-home vs school-based ABA.
ABA can happen at home, at school, and in the community. The right setting depends on your child's goals. Many kids benefit from more than one.
In-home ABA
Home is where routines, communication, and daily living skills need to hold up. Sessions can focus on meals, bedtime, play with siblings, and the hard moments of a normal day. Parents are close by, so family training fits in naturally.
School-based support
At school, the focus shifts to classroom skills, following group directions, and getting along with peers. Support can include functional behavior assessments, IEP development support, and school program review. At Centered Solutions these school services are private pay.
How families decide
- Where do the hardest moments happen?
- Which skills need to work in more than one place?
- What does your child's assessment recommend?
- What does your schedule allow?
It does not have to be one or the other
Skills learned in one place do not always carry over to another. Working across home, school, and community helps them stick. Your BCBA can help you weigh the options.
